How does laundry work in Pattaya?

Short answer

You have three options: a drop-off laundry shop that washes, dries and folds for you, a self-service laundromat (the Otteri chain, for example, calls its shops 24-hour and lists one on Soi Naklua 14), or your hotel or condo's laundry service. Ask the price and the pick-up time before you leave your clothes.

Your three options

  • Drop-off laundry shops. You leave your clothes, the shop washes, dries and folds them, and you collect them later.
  • Self-service laundromats. You run the machines yourself. Otteri Wash & Dry is one chain; it calls its shops 24-hour, and its branch finder lists a shop on Soi Naklua 14.1
  • Hotel or condo laundry. Some places to stay offer it; ask at reception for the price list.

Before you hand clothes over

  1. Ask the price, and whether it is per kilo or per item.
  2. Ask when the clothes will be ready, and how late you can collect them.
  3. Count the items, or take a photo of the pile, and keep the receipt.
  4. Keep delicates, whites and anything that needs dry cleaning separate, and say so.

Why we don't list prices

We list a price only when the business publishes it, with the date. None of the laundry services we checked publishes its prices online, Otteri included, so we don't show any.1

A problem with a laundry

If a shop loses or damages clothes and you can't agree, the Office of the Consumer Protection Board takes complaints on 1166; we could not confirm that it handles complaints in English.2
