Start with the three named roads
Chonburi's official travel guidance describes North Pattaya, Central Pattaya and South Pattaya roads as approaches from Sukhumvit Road toward the beach. That gives the labels a useful fixed reference: a document may be naming a road or using the same directional wording to orient a broader part of Pattaya.
This road context is more precise than treating the words as interchangeable lifestyle districts. If a bus operator, public office or property gives one of the road names, keep the road wording attached to that exact source instead of converting it into a claim about every place marketed under the directional label.
A road label is not a booking polygon
The official records reviewed for this answer do not provide one parcel-by-parcel accommodation boundary for North, Central and South Pattaya. A booking service, local speaker and public document can therefore use similar words at different levels of precision. The label can orient a search without settling an exact property location.

Read together, those sources support a simple distinction: Walking Street is one named place, not a boundary definition for everything called South Pattaya.
That distinction does not describe the surrounding area's current atmosphere. The records cited here do not measure daytime activity, nightlife exposure, noise, safety or pedestrian conditions. Those property- and time-specific questions remain outside this label explainer.
