Start with the exact identifier on the package
Find the product's authorization or label number exactly as printed, including any letters, symbols and digits. Thai FDA's consumer guidance specifically tells users to enter the exact number rather than relying on a similar brand name. Photograph or write down the complete identifier before opening a search tool so that punctuation or a missing character does not create a false mismatch.
Use the official Thai FDA e-services directory or the Health Products Search linked from its English homepage. The search covers several regulated categories, including food, medicine, cosmetics, medical devices, herbal products and hazardous products. Select the category that fits the label instead of assuming that every identifier uses the same format.
Compare the returned record carefully
Check more than whether the search produces any result. Compare the returned product name and status with the exact item being offered. A result for a similarly named product, a different strength, another package type or a different identifier is not the same as a clean match. The frozen official guidance supports exact-number comparison; it does not support guessing from transliteration or a partial name.
If the number is not found, incomplete or inconsistent with the product, do not convert that result into a public accusation. Thai FDA's guidance directs suspicious or not-found cases to its official channel or hotline 1556. Preserve the label details so the regulator can identify what you checked.
Keep registration separate from authenticity
A database match shows that an official record exists for the details returned by the search. It does not prove that the physical package in your hand is genuine, has not been refilled or altered, was stored correctly, or came from an authorized seller. Treat the lookup as one verification step, not a complete authenticity test.
The result also does not establish that a medicine, supplement, cosmetic or other product is suitable for a particular person. Do not read a listing as a regulator endorsement, treatment recommendation or substitute for professional advice. For a pharmacy purchase, use the separate licensed-pharmacy check as the next decision.
Escalate a mismatch without overclaiming
Keep the product name, complete label number, seller details and a safe image of the package if you need to ask Thai FDA about a mismatch. This is an evidence-preservation step, not a statement that every item is legally required for a report. Avoid publishing personal details or naming a seller as unlawful before an authority has assessed the facts.
Search categories, interfaces, statuses and contact routes can change. Re-run the current official search on the purchase date and use the current Thai FDA contact shown by the official service. A failed lookup can reflect an entry or category problem as well as a concern with the product, so keep the conclusion bounded until it is checked.
